Standards for consistent application of continuing care

Standards for consistent application of continuing care

Consistent standards need promoting across the country as the discussion develops about the nature of health and social care and how we fund them.

Points

This process was supposed to help people with highest need, it’s become a tangled mess, remove it you remove millions spent assessing, processing and arguing it, money ‘saved’ from delivering CHC could be directed into actual patient care. It failed on a monumental scale to help people and created one of the NHS’ biggest bureaucracies. Seek to have something better, less complicated and less post code lottery from a Government budget not local budgets and no front line staff will manipulate it.

No member of staff should be prepared to accept a quality they would accept for their, or their families own care. Every member of staff should be encouraged to set and meet the accepted quality.
