CYCLE ROUTE INTO TOWN FROM EAST THIRSK

CYCLE ROUTE INTO TOWN FROM EAST THIRSK

Cycling is cheap, healthy, zero-carbon, sustainable and generally brilliant but grossly underfunded compared with the amount of public money spent on road infrastructure. We need a cycle route into town from East Thirsk, possibly widening the footbridge over Cod Beck by Marage picnic area to accommodate bikes as well as pedestrians and widening path as far as St Mary’s. Is this possible? Or investigate alternative routes?

Points

Agree - there are far too few safe spaces for cycling which puts many off choosing to cycle around town.
