Create community gardens in stretches of boulevards close to schools, senior residences or even commercial areas and encourage the community or businesses to participate for a small fee. This will, hopefully in the long run, reduce the number of green spaces that the city has to maintain, and also help build a culture of being environmentally friendly, greener earth, etc. The possibilities as to what people will do are limitless. Note there may be costs for infrastructure or maintenance.
